Mia Oatley
Mia Oatley

Mia Oatley is a Sydney-based artist who has been practicing professionally for the past 20 years. Her work has been exhibited and collected Australia-wide and internationally, and has been selected for the prestigious Archibald Prize, the Mosman Art Prize, the Portia Geach, and the Waverley Art Prize.

Mia Oatley’s paintings are vibrant explorations of florals, native birds and female figures inspired by the artist’s surrounding environment on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Luscious textured oils and a dynamic colour palette inspired by the natural world effortlessly conjure fresh and lively imagery.

The symbol of the bird is representative of Mia’s life ethos after a period of transformation that has seen her embrace change, newness, and self-determining freedom.
