Alan Cassar is a Sydney based painter whose art and design work has now grown to include a series of panels for the outdoors.

Embracing the durability of exterior paint and of marine ply, Alan's art panels take paintings and decorative finishes to Sydney's contemporary entertainment area; such as courtyards, verandahs and balconies.

Greatly influenced by his theatre, event and interior design work Alan's outdoor art panels express his love of form and materials into vibrant imagery.

Alan's works comprise of three themes: the intrinsic visual artistry of plant forms; the reverie of distant horizons and the nostalgia of rapidly vanishing backyard activities. The images reference photos, conversations and literature. However, Alan readily admits that the end result invariably reflects the imaginary through which he translates his outdoor experiences, often tinged with a benevolent humour.

Alan continues to experiment with themes and scale. He is also creating commissioned art that reflects his client's individual outdoor spaces.
